Here is an example for what means a story from Chia-wei:

今天是小明的生日，他爸爸给他买了一件衣服。一开始小明还很高兴，可到后来，他发现爸爸买的衣服太小了，小到连手都伸不进去。爸爸说：“小明啊，你是不是又长胖了？炸鸡薯条吃这么多！”“你才胖呢！我可是每天早中晚都要跑步两个小时，还有，谁说我吃炸鸡薯条了？我明明每天早中晚都吃生菜水果沙拉呢！”原来，不是小明胖了，是衣服真的买太小。爸爸感到丢脸，所以他就带小明去从新买一件。幸好，他们没有再买错。

The passage (“the meanings of colors in Chinese culture”) we learned is not a story. What you wrote for the “ story narration according to the four given pictures” are stories. 4. You need to write a story, which means it needs to have character(s) and plots. 3. You are encouraged to use more words in your story. Extra points will be given if you use more words and use them correctly. at least 7 to make a story. 1. Review the words in the vocabulary list.

Hi, here is a great website for you to review and practice the pinyin we've talked about these days.http://www.instantspeakchinese.com/pinyin/


1. To review the initials, click the "initials" tab on the left. Move your mouse on each initial and you'll hear the sound.


2. To review the six most basic vowels (a, o, e, i ,u, v), click the "finals" tab. Move your mouse on each final and you'll hear the sound. You are only required to review these six vowels now, but if you want to move a little bit further, you can listen to the sounds of other finals.


3. To review the combinations of each initial with each of the six basic vowels, click the "Combination tables

- Table 1 (a,o,e,i)  - Table 2 (i)  - Table 3 (u,ü)" on the left.

Same as what you do with the initials or the finals, move your mouse to the sound. 

For tomorrow's quiz, we'll only test what we've covered so far (we've reviewed every initial, but for the finals, we only covered the most basic ones:a, o, e, i, u, v), so your focus should be the sounds we've covered these days.

Homework for the veteran's day holiday

1. correct the quiz.(1)Write/type on a separate paper. (2)Correct all the wrong or missing answers.(3) For question1 and question2, the answers are in the vocabulary list(I think it's p. 106, 108, and 110) in our text book.)

2. practice for the pinyin and the tongue twister.(I've posted on our blog, check it out.)

3. do the reading comprehension for the 4th passage (posted on our blog too)

4. Do the story narration. (at least 150 characters.)

For all the written homework. You can send it to me via email,  type it and print it out by yourself,  or just write it down and bring it to me this Friday.
